Two musicians, twenty years of playing together, a sound that means something — and two seats at the table for the right people.
What we believe

Skinny Whale is a progressive rock duo from the Deinze area. We write warm, atmospheric music built around emotion, dynamics, and contrast — somewhere between Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson, and Snarky Puppy. We take the music seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously.
We have original material ready: three finished singles, two more in the final stages. We know where we're going. What we're missing is the rhythm section — and the right people to share it with.
Who we're looking for
The role matters less than the person. But here's what the music asks for.
Drummer
Someone who holds space.
- Groove and feel above everything — the song always comes first
- Comfortable across rock, blues, funk, and progressive music
- Based in or near Deinze / Ghent
- Ready for rehearsals and eventually live shows
Bassist
Someone who listens deeply.
- Solid foundation, musical ear, able to lock in with keys and guitar
- At home in funk, rock, and progressive music
- Based in or near Deinze / Ghent
- Interested in original music and live performance
What this isn't
- A cover band
- A weekend hobby project
- A stage for ego
- A democracy where every opinion is equal — we have a direction, and we're committed to it
